SaveOne offers help for men, women, and family members/friends, through group study, online study, or answering questions and giving encouragement through self-study. They have a Bible based curriculum that was written by founder Sheila Harper. Sheila chose abortion in 1985 for her first child and lived with mental and emotional anguish for 7 years following that choice.

Connect Group Discussion Questions

1. Are there things in life that we justify even though we know it’s wrong?

2. Think about a time you made a decision you still regret, or one that you would go back and change if you could. Remember the circumstances that led up to it and why that decision seemed best at the time.

3. What are some factors that lead us to make decisions we later regret?

2 Cor. 12:9 But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

4. What kind of support did you receive? What did people say or do that helped you, or that made things worse?

5. How can we support people who are experiencing the consequences of their decisions, but without condoning the actions that got them there? How can we continue to be a place of HOPE?

2 Cor. 1:4 He comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others. When they are troubled, we will be able to give them the same comfort God has given us.

1Peter 5:10 And after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace, who has called you to his eternal glory in Christ, will himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you.

6. Jesus purposefully spent time with people who were suffering the consequences of their actions. What examples can you think of? How did he approach them and respond to them? Some answers to get you started…Zacchaeus, woman at the well, Matthew the tax collector)

7. How can we draw people to Jesus and show them that He loves them and wants to heal them?

Rev. 12:10-11 And I heard a loud voice in heaven, saying, “Now the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God and the authority of his Christ have come, for the accuser of our brothers has been thrown down, who accuses them day and night before our God. And they have conquered him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, for they loved not their lives even unto death.
